Datalogic Magellan 3300HSi built-in scanner

The Magellan™ 3300HSi barcode reader brings the new Datalogic imager technology, specially designed for high-volume points of sale. Together with the 3200VSi vertical reader, these are the first barcode scanners to double the speed and wide field of view of high-performance omnidirectional laser scanners, while adding to the benefits associated with images. This imaging technology delivers outstanding performance when capturing hard-to-read barcodes, such as short (out-of-spec), poorly printed, and GS1 DataBar™ codes. Magellan™ 3300HSi provides support for both linear (1D) and for the 2D label. Moreover, it allows simultaneous display of scanning and presentation techniques, which ensures maximum productivity and ergonomic ease.

Unique features not found on any point-of-sale scanner include a micro-SD card reader to help manage, upgrade and maintain the software. Managing the software with the Magellan 3300HSi reader is very flexible and includes several methods to load new software or to modify existing configuration files and application firmware. Because most features of the Magellan 3300HSi scanner are software-based, new capabilities are easy to add, even after initial installation, increasing the life of the scanner and protecting the company's technology investment over time.

Other features of the Magellan product include Diagnostic Reporting, Host Download, and Productivity Index Reporting, allowing management to use data from the scanner to improve transfer capacity and manage maintenance. A mobile phone reading mode, activated either by a push of a button or by a host terminal software command, optimizes light levels to capture images or read barcodes on mobile phones or PDAs.
